About the country

About Argentina

Argentina has a striking geography that stretches from the Andes to the glaciers of Patagonia and the wide plains of the pampas. Its Spanish is instantly recognisable, with 'vos' used instead of 'tú' and a distinctive intonation, which makes it a fascinating discovery for a language learner. Tango, a passion for football, mate tea and long evening meals are all inseparable parts of Argentine culture.

Our programmes in Argentina are in the capital, Buenos Aires. You can choose from General Spanish, Business Spanish and programmes that combine lessons with cultural activities. With its European-influenced avenues, bookshops, theatres and characterful neighbourhoods such as San Telmo and Palermo, Buenos Aires is an inspiring city for anyone who wants to learn the language within the daily life of a cultural capital.

As Argentina is in the southern hemisphere, its seasons are the reverse of Türkiye's: when it is winter at home, summer is starting in Buenos Aires. We recommend taking this, and the long journey from Türkiye, into account when choosing your programme dates. A programme starting in December or January also lets you swap the Turkish winter for a southern hemisphere summer.
